From the recording Your Way Home

This is the song that began our now usual form of collaboration - written in 1977 when we were both members of our folk group West Five. It needed a saxophone solo but none of us could play the sax so the song lay unplayed until 2004 when Steve D's 11 year old son Matt obliged. He is here again on this recording playing superbly!

Lyrics

Nothing That Can’t Wait a Day

When you’re weary and tired
And you have no desire
Listen to, listen to the voice inside

Hold on Son, you’ve got it all wrong
There’s nothing that must be hurried
Hold on Son, you’ve got it all wrong
There’s nothing that can’t wait a day

If you’re happy and free
And you’re feeling complete
You’re listening to, listening to the voice inside

Well done Son, you’ve got it all right
There’s nothing that must be hurried
Well done Son, you’ve got it this time
There’s nothing that can’t wait a day
